I'm getting a really intrusive Head and Shoulders ad banner at the top of the page. Whenever your mouse pointer hovers above the banner, the banner expands, and a video automatically starts playing. This can happen quite easily when you go to click on another browser tab in Firefox/Safari/Chrome/etc.
Anyone else getting annoyed?

I don't understand why it won't let you update, from the Help Menu > check for updates, in the app itself... why do i have to go to Microsofts website to get the update?

Built-in WiFi seems to be the biggest upgrade. Is it just me or does the case look pretty much the same as some Alienware cases? :p

The iPhone 4 sported twice the RAM of the iPad. Perhaps the iPhone 5 also sports more RAM than the iPad 2.
In fact, maybe that's part of the reason for the push to September. To put more distance between the iPad and the iPhone so that iPad owners don't feel like their product is playing second fiddle to the iPhone (which it is).

You gotta love the Chicken Little histrionics from people who seven years ago gave the Republicans a blank check and said "Here, spend as much as you want, as long as you're killing camel jockeys and keeping America safe." Then when the dinner check comes, they want to kill funding for Planned Parenthood and NPR, which wouldn't make a dent in the debt incurred by The War On Terrah. Hell, the Shrub's plane ride to the "Mission Accomplished" banner probably cost more than two years' funding for NPR.

It's so you can have analog and digital audio and video, remote control commands, and various types of protocols coming out of one port. All the user needs to do is buy the one they need.

Well good luck with that and remember MS has complete control over your WinMo phone, Google has complete control over your Android phone and Palm er... whoever buys palm has complete control over your Web OS phone.
Speaking of morons, you definitely appear to be one.
I used to have a couple of WinMo phones before my iPhones, and WinMo is fully customizable. MS is not trying to lock it with every minor upgrade, and there are whole open communities cooking customized ROMs.
Same for Android - OEMs can customize it, users can customize it, and Google doesn't actively try to break these customizations with every minor update.
And yes, my current 3G Ss are my last iProducts. I will continue to buy Apple monitors, iMacs and Mac Book Pros, because of their design, but I've had it with the iPhone. And I am staying away from the iPad, waiting for the Android slates,
As to the magnanimous invitation to "resubmit," Fiore should have told Jobs to go ****** himself. At the very least, the honors should be on Apple to re-review the application, not on Fiore to resubmit, hat in hand.

I think the Japanese version of the "Get A Mac" ad was first aired in the Japanese TV on last Saturday at around 10 pm Japan Time.
I was a bit surprised, not only because "Get A Mac" is in Japanese, but also because Apple has chosen the right man to do the Ad, the Rahmen!!
I love Rahmen's way of making spoof.
I quickly posted the ad, and of course the famous Rahmen spoof on Japanese in Sushi in my blog (http://macfordummy.blogspot.com).

For anyone who got in with the PC beta, the OS X beta now available for download, you don't need a new key or anything.

I was so angry last night to find out there was no longer any Discovery Channel, Animal Planet, or NatGeo :mad:
Quite frankly, I just don't see the difference between what is being offered in my home from the box or from my iPad other than screen size. If the big networks feel as though by pulling their channels from this app is another way for them to figure out how to create revenue, than that sucks. Seems as though they may see some sort of HuluPlus opportunity here. As it was, there were already ads/commercials in the TWC iPad app to begin because it's live TV programming streamed to the iPad.

It certainly isn't useless, it's designed so you can get high-quality stereo audio through it. You can't do that with a mic socket, the power in the socket for the mic can affect the sound quality, it causes a buzz. If you want high quality audio get a USB headset or a USB/FW microphone preamp. For the majority the iPhone headphones/mic or the built-in mic work just fine. Why do you need support for PC-style headsets?
Anyone doing serious recording through a 1/8 jack needs their head examined. The jack is useless in its current state. Why do I need support for 'PC style' headsets? Well for one there are a ton of new high quality headsets I could choose from and for two I could have a free USB port. The headphones that support the audio out microphone capability are either expensive as hell or not good for long periods of time.

While it doesn't seem surprising that Jobs did all the talking, I would hope that he could also listen a bit and maybe glean some insight on what's going on in Schmidt's head.
