Same here: Filed AP on August 1st and got the receipt on the 25th, but have yet to receive the I-485/EAD receipts, which were filed on July 6. What can we do?

I had sent my EAD application on last week Thursday through express mail and I recvd the same status first time. On Monday, the status changed to delivery confirmed when someone picked the notice I think. My checks are cashed today so you may have to wait for a day and it should be fine.

Converting to PERM is safe, does cost money and advantageous only to get 3 year extensions of H-1B which will save your company the money for extensions. (H-1B). It does not expedite your GC processing time and does not fetch you even EAD.
My company's attorney converted 4 EB2 cases with PD March 2005 to PERM and successfully got approved all the 4 cases with in two months. On all the four cases they have not got the 45 days letters.
In your case since you are in 8th year extension it may be better to either convert exisitng EB3 to PERM or file a new EB2 for a different position in same company and get I140 approved. Evaluate based on which one costs you less money.

My Wife was 5 months pregnant when we went for medical exam in June 07. Her Obgyn did all the HPV and HIV medical tests in Feb 07 and additionally did the vericella anti bodies blood test in May 07. She did not take the this time TB skin test as both of us tested Skin test positive and Chest X ray negative in 2003 and we both took 9 months preventive medication.
We transferred all the medical records from my Primary care to Civil surgeon for other vaccinations that we took back in 2004 before going for our first baby so that we don't get into this vaccinations mess . So he just wrote the comment to do the Chest X Ray again at primary care physician after the baby is born and certified fully healthy. So this time I did not spend a dime on her medical tests as everything was covered by Insurance. I just took chest X Ray and then Blood test at county health department.
All you need to do is to take the records from your primary care or OBGYN and take them to Civil surgeon. Make sure to take your wife's blood reports done OBGYN in addition to her referral letter. Everything will be alright. If you did not take vaccines, then he will write his recommendation which will result in RFE.

Hi,
I just got approved for H-1B this year and I have some questions. I'm from a small country where they do not easily let their citizens to become citizens of other counties. So unless it's for educational purpose (undergraduate/graduate), they will not renew my passport for me.
My passport expires at the end of this year, and I was wondering if it's possible to obtain the following with an expired passport:
a) H-1B extension
b) PERM
c) green card
If it's not possible to obtain any of them with an expired passport, I must enroll in a graduate school to renew my passport. (Before my passport expires) I really prefer not to do this.
I would really appreciate if you could reply with cases you've seen or experienced in the past.

My prority will be current in Aug, next month. I filed I485 last july and my I140 is also approved long back in 2006. After filing I485 i do not see any LUD or anything on my case.
What will be the chances to get my I485 approve ? Do i need to followup / take appointment ( Infopass) etc ?

I got the same message for my I-485 application. I called the customer service representative and she transfered me to Immigration Officer. The Immigration Officer is so kind. He told me that there are two different systems in USCIS , one in mainframe system and another is DB2 System. My case is on Mainframes system so it will get transfered to DB2 System as they have few problems in updating.
I too got my receipt numbers 8 weeks back, but still i am getting the same message.

I entered US using AP on this Sunday from Chicago.
AP and passport were enough. They did ask for old H1 stamp which was on my older expired passport. So I will add :
carry older passports if any.
I also carried I-485 notice and EAD but was not asked for it.

I am also interested in this topic. My wife is working curently using OPT. But, she is waiting for EAD also. So, once 485 EAD comes, she will be in similar situation.
Lawyer has suggested using 485 EAD once it comes.
Anyway, for travelling, AP has to be used. Once you travel on AP and come back, you cannot continue working using OPT. You have to use 485 EAD. So, it is better to switch to 485 EAD to avoid confusion.
I am planning to keep her on OPT till Dec 31. It will make our tax filing easier next year. From January, she can switch to 485 EAD and pay social security tax.
Let me know if you can some concrete info on this.

I am working on H1B. Recently what has happened that my family lives in state A, and I am working in state B. My family could not move to state B because my sone is going to school. I have to pay alot of expenses to go back and fort from state B to A, like air ticket and cab ect. I talking to my compnay regarding this and they said that whatever are my expenses submit to every month end and he will send a check for those expenses which will be pre taxed amount. i.e. if my pre taxed salary is $ 5000 per-month , if I submit expense statemet for $500.
