I upgraded my 2011 Macbook Pro memory to 8gb and have 2x2GB available. Can I use these in my new 2011 IMac 21.5 in addition to the 4GB that is in their already? The specs I find look the same/similar. This would give me 8GB (4x2 pairs).

VersionTracker.com is indispensable for, personally.. With most software phoning for updates though, it's a bit overkill for VTP, so you're right on that one.
The "member" "freebies" on .Mac are the toaster over give away of the intarweb land. Lame x 3
i don't think getting a free versiontracker is enough. I never understood why versiontracker is such a big deal because most of softwares get automatic updates anyway. unless i am missing something, i never use versiontracker.

Why would you want to use ddr2 anyways? its slower, and more power consuming. If you have a lot, consider selling them. Or maybe build a Hackintosh with a second hand cpu with lots of ram

The oil embargo was caused by the invasion of Japan to Indochina.....
actually the embargo was a belated response to the japanese invasion of china in 1937 (Shanghai 250,00 chinese killed, Nanking with another 250,00 chinese killed), japan's attack on the soviets in 1938, japan's alliances with nazi germany (the anti-comintern pact in 1936 as an example), the start of WW2 in europe, etc
Among other things we basically placed them under an oil embargo their need for natural resources and they're inability to attain them from us in a peaceful manner encouraged them to invade.....
