They NEED 2 versions of iCade - one with joystick, the other with a Trackball and Knob... ;)
100% agree. I've seen some of those self contained TV video games that are basically a joystick with RCA cables coming out the back that have a combo joystick & paddle - the joystick rotating to be the paddle. Never tried it though. (I think it was the Pole Position one.)
But not being able to spin the knob on Tempest looses some of the nostalgia for me too.

Very cool. Though I still can't see something like this reaching its full potential without a pressure sensitive stylus.
I disagree. There are plenty of people working with PS using just a mouse, which isn't pressure sensitive. Remember in the keynote demo of Garage Band, it was mentioned that Apple accomplished touch-sensitivity when you play an instrument by utilizing the accelerometer. I assume it could be the same for an imaging program.

Note: 2G = Second Generation. Second generation iPod Shuffles have a capacity of 1 Gigabytes.
Wouldn't it have been common sense to just spell out 1 Gigabyte Second Generation instead of devoting a whole other sentence at the end of the article about what 2G means?

You need to ask yourselves a questions: How these stores operating? and Why products end up there?
Apparently, some authorized retailers overstock iPads or could not move projected volume, so they dumped some unsold inventory to Marshalls and TJMax, just to get some cash back, quick.
Overstocked with iPads??? Not a good news for Steve.
What is the issue here? iPads are sold in Walmart and Target and nobody complains.
I think the biggest issue with it comes from the actual Apple authorized retailers. For instance, in my line of work (golf course management), I purchase golf equipment directly from the manufacturers (Callaway Golf, Nike, Titleist, etc). To be able to do that, I HAVE to agree to a minimum advertised pricing (MAP) policy, or I can't buy directly from them nor be listed as a retailer of that company's products (any retailer buying from directly from the manufacturer has to abide by this). If I then saw a major retailer (a competitor) advertising products that I sell for significantly lower than I am allowed to (knowing that all official retailers are supposed to be bound by this agreement to even sell the products as an "authorized retailer"), then I'm going to be pretty upset as to why I have to abide by it to get my goods, when either they (the competitor discounting said merchandise) aren't, or either they are getting a cheaper price (allowing them to sell for a lower price than me, yet still keep similar profit margins). And if they are in violation of this MAP policy, I'm going to damn sure be wondering why the manufacturer (in the iPad case...Apple), isn't going after them (telling them to stop, if they are an authorized retailer), or pulling their account. In the golf business, the manufacturers go hard after companies that violate this MAP policy.

Someone call the WAAAAA-Ambulance.....
The emailer is most likely an early adopter who feels cheated...
So is this guy going to write to Steve Jobs every time he finds an iPad on eBay for $100 less than retail? How about 1 auctions?
If TJ Maxx got their hands on enough stock who the F cares and go pick one up if you want one! I'm personally waiting for Gen 2 with FaceTime.
my sentiments exactly. why rain on other people's parade? elitist complex, much?

I got this and Missile Command. It's pretty terrible on the iPod touch. Way too small to be playable without bringing on a migraine.

As covered by Photography Bay (http://www.photographybay.com/2011/03/30/real-photoshop-for-ipad-with-layers/), Adobe yesterday used its keynote address at Photoshop World 2011 to briefly show off a new concept for a Photoshop app for iPad offering support for layers, a significant leap beyond the capabilities found in the company's current Photoshop Express (http://appshopper.com/photography/photoshopcom-mobile) app.
Photography Bay has also posted a brief video (http://www.photographybay.com/2011/03/30/photoshop-for-ipad-live-demo/) of the demo showing how layers can be used on the iPad.
The functionality remains a demo concept with no word on when or if it will make it to a public launch, but Adobe has openly acknowledged (http://www.macrumors.com/2010/05/28/adobe-thinking-about-options-for-viewing-photoshop-files-on-ipad/) that it is looking at ways to support more complex Photoshop functionalities on tablets such as the iPad, and has even shown off concepts (http://www.macrumors.com/2010/11/05/adobe-considers-possibilities-for-iphone-and-ipad-integration-with-photoshop/) for how some of those tools might be implemented.

This is probably a "duh" question. Can you use a microphone with the iPod Touch 3g and still hear the speakers? (Since there is only one input.) The reason I ask is that some young nieces enjoy the Gina the Giraffe and other interactive apps on an iPhone. If so, what mike do you recommend. Thanks. David

Is iCloud really $4.5 million better than MobileMe?
For a company that profited several billion? Yeah, probably. :)

iDisk works fine for me and has better integration than Dropbox.
How is iDisk better integrated than DropBox? I have DropBox running on my desktop where it looks like any other folder. I can open that folder and drag things to and from it. I have DropBox running on my iPad and iPhone too, and all three devices sync automatically. I use 1Password on all three devices and my data file resides on DropBox, so 1Password syncs to all devices automatically. And, there's a web interface for DropBox, so I can get to it from any computer. So what's better on iDisk?
