Guys,
Have we contacted national newspapers New York Times,Washington Post ?
In effort to make legislators and people aware of legal immigration issues, we should take help of media.This would be most effective.
Hiring a lobbying firm to pursue our issues with legislators is a good idea but it should be accompanied with media awareness as well.This is money intensive project and it will take time to reach its target of 100k.We need some other channel of awareness open as well and we need to do that soon so that it has some effect on Feb bills.
People are not aware that we are going thru such long waits to get immigrate legally.This issue needs to be highlighted.

can you please let everyone know when was your H1 approved? (that will help decide the pattern for passport delay due to PIMS..)
My H1 extension and transfer to a new employer was approved around Feb 2007 and validity is between mar 2007 and feb 2010.
So did you guys notice a pattern here ?

It seems only few July 2nd filer left. I am one of them.
Nothing, Zilch, Nada....My lawyer said that of the 40 applications they filed on July 2nd. they got RN for only 5 so..... Seems to be a very long wait

This is just a message to 2005/2006/2007 PD guys. Please don't think that some miracle will happen and dates will be current soon, it will take its own time. Mostly for EB2 & EB3June 2006- June 2007 guys, it will be like a lottery if the PD becomes current somewhere in 2007 Oct-Nov time. Right??
So life is not always easy. There are people waiting since 2002-03-04.

Let's have a look over OCT bulletin after 2 months and for sure dates will move atleast 4-6 months for EB2 guys and 1 year for EB3 guys. So wait, be patient, instead of doing all this.
Anyway, our turn will come sooner or later, so why to become impatient just seeing the JULY bulletin CURRENT and then "U".
Mainly this is the message for 2005-2006-2007 PD guys. Please don't take it otherwise.
Take it easy...PD means FIFO.
So...long story short, don't worry, you will get your GC prior to the "2005/2006/2007 PD guys".

Can you please further explain how the visa flow will work if instead of horizontal flow it is made vertical flow... or you have some other interpretation?
Quite simply put EB3-ROW << EB2-I,C. So there is a faster chance of EB3-ROW going forward and being current before EB2-I becomes current. Therefore, with all other categories satisfied, it boils down to EB2-I/C and EB3-I/C. Thenceforth, as USCIS has indicated, the longest waiting PDs will be given the roll-over numbers, which is EB3-I.
So what will be the flow? I guess the following
EB1-> EB3-ROW (until current)
EB2-ROW -> EB2-I/C
Once Eb3-ROW becomes current
EB2-ROW -> EB2-I/C
EB3-ROW -> EB3-I/C
EB1 -> older of (EB2-I, EB2-C, EB3-I, EB3-C)
Please note, this is not going to be a quick fix for EB3-I. We are lowest on the totem pole, and barring legislative action, the only relief we can have is "earlier access" to numbers. I send a letter to senator Gregg(NH) Last week about July Visa Bulletin reversal by DOS and how its going to affect all individuals who filed their 485 based on original Visa Bulletin published by DOS.
I Just got a call from Senator's office. He is sending a letter to DOS today or tomorrow asking about July Visa Bulletin reversal.
I will post DOS reply as soon as I hear back from senator's office.
Moral of the story is time for action when iron is hot.

Everybody has to go through name check. A "small percentage" get stuck. Right now most of this forum is in "receipt mode". Let us wait for 1 more year to see how many scream " i am stuck in namecheck" . Just ask Indians/Chinese/Russians.

Like others have pointed out, it looks like that the numbers are being allocated in a different way from before. Does any one know of any article or discussion by a real attorney or some expert on what is going on?
USCIS may be using divide and silence tactics. One can already see the impact of EB2 being as good as current. They probably liked what they saw and are setting up to move back EB3 much more. At this rate EB3 will crawl to death. People will try to jump into EB2 and realignments/adjustments automatically will take place.All good for USCIS.
But, going back to my original question, what are the legal experts saying? Can any legal entity or any type of action force USCIS to explain what the heck is going on?

We had our visa interview for H1-H4 stamping on Jan 29 in Mumbai Consulate as my hubby had changed his employer and also applied for the 3 year extension.The VO asked him questions about his job,company,profile ,etc and told us the visa was approved and we will get it in mail the next day.We got our passports with new visas the next day.I don;t know about others in our line cause we were the first one's there.
Am not sure how the PIMS thing works if it is for every one or only some ppl.

It seems the popular perception is that this is an Indian effort.
We need to correct it.
It seems some of the members who interviewed with the media got carried away with "Gandhigiri" and all things Indian. It sounds ironic, we are craving attention from Indian media while trying to become Permanent residents of USA.
I don't think we should read too much into it. IV is obviously not an all Indian forum but the entire idea started with inspiration from an Indian movie and almost everyone that reporters have spoken to is an Indian. So it is easy to take away that impression.
It's not always possible to cram every fact and our every grievance in a 500 word report that needs to be understood by readers who might have not even heard the term green-card.
We need to correct it.

There is no message. Just a soft update on the date. I just called USCIS and no news was disclosed and asked to wait for another 30 days for response.
